Mahjong Study is an independent, browser-first toolkit for preparing mahjong lessons, arranging example hands and exploring several mahjong traditions.
What you can do here
Create editable teaching cards, arrange tiles in 2D or on a 3D table, prepare printable handouts, experiment with tile materials, and read reference courses for six traditions.
Local-first by design
Lessons, tool drafts and export presets are designed to work in the browser. Export JSON backups when the material matters or when moving to another browser or device. Optional sign-in is authentication only in the current edition; it is not cloud lesson sync.
Teaching reference, not a rules engine
Mahjong rules vary by tradition, edition and table agreement. Starter examples and reference lessons are aids for teaching and review; instructors should verify them against the rules and card edition they actually use.
Independent project
Mahjong Study is not presented as an official site of a mahjong governing body, league or card publisher. Names and trademarks referenced for identification remain the property of their respective owners.
